On August 12th 2018 (the one-year anniversary of the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville where Heather Heyer was killed by a white supremacist terror attack), a 'white civil rights' rally was set to be held in Washington D.C.

The event was planned and lead by Jason Kessler and was attended by about twenty of his peers. The counter-protest appeared to be well into the thousands.
